Copyright Policy
How to tell us that content on Bless Events infringes your copyright, how to respond if your content was removed, and when we end repeat infringers' access.
We respect the rights of people who create photos, writing, logos and other work. We expect everyone who uses Bless Events to do the same. This policy explains how we handle claims of copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. 512.
Content on Bless Events
Organizations that use Bless Events add their own content to their pages. This includes event cover images, auction item photos, logos, event and item descriptions, and files they link to. Bless does not review that content before it goes live. The organization that added it is responsible for having the rights to use it.
If you think content on Bless Events uses your work without permission, you can contact the organization directly. You can also send us a notice as described below.
Send us a notice of infringement
To ask us to remove content, send a written notice to our designated agent (see "Our designated agent" below). Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of a person authorized to act for the copyright owner;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed. If your notice covers several works, a list of them;
- a description of the material you say is infringing, and enough information for us to find it. The web address of the page is the best way to do this;
- your name, mailing address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner.
If a notice leaves out these items, we may not be able to act on it.
When we receive a complete notice, we will remove the material or disable access to it. We will also tell the organization or person who added it and send them a copy of the notice.
Send us a counter-notice
If material you added was removed because of a notice, and you believe it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, you can send our designated agent a counter-notice. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the material that was removed, and where it appeared before it was removed;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification;
- your name, mailing address and phone number;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is, or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Bless may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or that person's agent.
When we receive a complete counter-notice, we will send a copy to the person who sent the original notice. We will tell them that we will restore the material in 10 business days. We will restore it no less than 10 and no more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless our designated agent first receives notice that the person has filed a court action to stop the infringement.
False claims
Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are not sure whether material infringes your copyright, for example because it may be fair use, consider talking to a lawyer before you send a notice.
Repeat infringers
We will end, in appropriate circumstances, the access of any organization or User who repeatedly infringes others' copyrights. This includes ending an organization's account and a User's login. We may also remove content or limit access without ending an account, at our discretion.
