Donor and Attendee Terms
Terms for anyone who gives, buys a ticket, registers or bids on an organization's pages powered by Bless.
These terms apply when you give a donation, set up a recurring gift, buy a ticket, register for an event or bid in an auction on an organization's pages that run on Bless Events. company legal name ("Bless", "we") provides the software behind those pages.
You accept these terms when you check the box or click "I agree" next to Place order, Give or Enroll to bid.
Who you are dealing with
The organization is the seller and the charity. When you give, buy or bid, your agreement is with the organization named on the page, not with Bless. The organization:
- receives your money;
- is the merchant of record for your payment;
- runs the event, auction or campaign; and
- decides how your gift is used.
Bless provides the software. Bless builds and runs the pages, checkout and emails the organization uses. Bless is not a charity, does not receive your gift and does not hold the organization's funds.
Your card statement. Payments are processed by Stripe on the organization's own Stripe account. The charge on your card or bank statement shows the organization's name, or a short form of it that the organization chooses. Stripe handles your full card number. Bless and the organization see only details such as the card brand and last four digits.
Prices and covering fees
The page shows the price of each ticket or item, and the total, before you pay.
The organization may offer you the choice to cover processing charges so more of your payment reaches it. That choice is optional. If it is offered, the amount is shown before you pay, and you can decline it.
Refunds, changes and cancellations
Refunds are the organization's decision and follow its own policy. So are changes to an event's date, time, place or program, and cancelling an event. If you want a refund or have a question about an event, contact the organization. Its contact details are on its pages and in your receipt.
Bless does not decide refunds and cannot issue them for the organization.
Tax deductibility
Whether all or part of your payment is tax-deductible depends on the organization's tax status, what you received in return (such as a meal, ticket or auction item), and the law that applies to you. The organization decides what to say on your receipt about deductibility and the value of any goods or services you received.
Bless does not give tax advice. Ask the organization, or your own tax adviser, if you have a question.
Recurring gifts
If you set up a recurring gift, you authorize the organization to charge your payment method the amount you chose, at the interval you chose (for example, monthly), starting on the date shown. The gift repeats until you cancel it.
You can cancel or update your card at any time from the link in your receipt email, or by contacting the organization. Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund charges already made; ask the organization about those.
Auctions
Enrolling to bid. To bid, you enroll with your contact details and a payment card. When you enroll, you agree that the organization may save your card and charge it after the auction for the items you win.
Bids are binding. Each bid is an offer to buy the item at that amount. A bid you place, or that the organization's staff or volunteers record for your paddle at your direction, cannot be withdrawn unless the organization allows it.
Winning. If you are the winning bidder when bidding closes, you agree to pay your winning amount. You authorize the organization to charge your saved card that amount after the auction, as you agreed when you enrolled. You may also be able to pay at the event in another way the organization accepts.
Items. Each item is offered and described by the organization. The organization is responsible for the description, any value it states, any restrictions (such as expiry dates or blackout dates), and getting the item to you. Questions or problems with an item go to the organization.
Registering other people
If you register, buy for or give information about another person, such as a guest, spouse or child, you confirm that:
- you have that person's permission, or you are the parent or legal guardian of a child you register; and
- the information you give is accurate.
Only give the information the registration asks for. Do not include sensitive details, such as health records or Social Security numbers, in answers to questions.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must place the order for you.
Your information
The organization decides what information it collects from you and how it uses it. Bless handles that information for the organization as its service provider. The Privacy Policy explains how Bless handles personal information, including the cookies listed in the Cookie Notice. For the organization's own practices, see its privacy policy or contact it.
The organization may send you receipts, event updates and, if you agreed, news and appeals. Marketing emails include a link to unsubscribe.
Using the pages
Give accurate information. Do not use someone else's card without permission, place bids you do not intend to honor, interfere with an auction or checkout, or try to get into another person's account or information.
The organization or Bless may cancel an order, refuse a bid or block access if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent or breaks these terms.
The organization's own terms
The organization may have its own terms, such as a refund policy, event rules, auction rules or a code of conduct. Those terms apply alongside these. If they conflict about your purchase, gift or bid, the organization's terms control between you and the organization.
Bless's role and limits
Bless is not a party to your purchase, gift or bid. Bless is not responsible for the organization's events, items, refunds, receipts or use of your gift.
The disclaimers, limits of liability and dispute resolution terms in the Bless Terms of Service apply to any claim you have against Bless. Those terms include an agreement to resolve disputes with Bless through individual arbitration and a class action waiver, which you may opt out of as they describe. They do not limit any claim you have against the organization.
Changes and contact
Bless may update these terms. The version in effect when you pay, give or enroll to bid applies to that payment, gift or bid. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
For questions about your purchase, gift, bid or an event, contact the organization. For questions about these terms or the Bless software, write to support email, or for legal notices to legal email or company address.
